Free Workshops

Workshops are available throughout Vermont for each of the six Self-Management Programs. These workshops provide a supportive atmosphere for participants to focus on building skills to manage their conditions by sharing experiences and providing mutual support. All of the programs are free to any Vermonter who meets the program requirements. Find a workshop that works for you.

Healthier Living Workshop: Diabetes @ Holy Cross Senior Housing | Colchester | Vermont | United States

Diabetes Management is a program for people living with Diabetes and focuses on techniques to deal with symptoms as well as emotional health, exercise, nutrition and communicating effectively with health care providers. The workshops for this program are given over 2 ½ hours, once a week, for 6 weeks.

Tobacco cessation programs focus on helping people quit smoking. These workshops are led by a trained Vermont Quit Partner and meet one hour a week for 4 to 6 weeks—however, many tobacco cessation programs are offered on an ongoing basis, with rolling admission. Participants may join at any time, and, on average, attend for 6 sessions. Tobacco Cessation programs are supported by the Vermont Department of Health, Tobacco Control Program.

Healthier Living Workshop: Chronic Pain @ Community Health Centers of Burlington

Healthier Living Workshop: Chronic Pain @ Community Health Centers of Burlington | Burlington | Vermont | United States

Chronic Pain Management is a program for people who have either a primary or secondary diagnosis of chronic pain (as defined as lasting for longer than 3 to 6 months or lasting longer than the normal healing time of an injury). The program focuses on problem solving, appropriate usage of medications and exercise, nutrition, emotions and communicating with health care providers. The Healthier Living: Chronic Pain is a workshop given over 2 ½ hours, once a week, for 6 weeks.
