Free Workshops

Workshops are available throughout Vermont for each of the six Self-Management Programs. These workshops provide a supportive atmosphere for participants to focus on building skills to manage their conditions by sharing experiences and providing mutual support. All of the programs are free to any Vermonter who meets the program requirements. Find a workshop that works for you.

Chronic Disease Self-Management is a program that focuses on problems that are common to individuals dealing with any chronic condition such as pain management, nutrition, exercise, medication use, emotional health and communicating with health care providers. Chronic Disease Self-Management is a workshop given over 2 ½ hours, once a week, for 6 weeks.

Chronic Pain Management is a program for people who have either a primary or secondary diagnosis of chronic pain (as defined as lasting for longer than 3 to 6 months or lasting longer than the normal healing time of an injury). The program focuses on problem solving, appropriate usage of medications and exercise, nutrition, emotions and communicating with health care providers. The Healthier Living: Chronic Pain is a workshop given over 2 ½ hours, once a week, for 6 weeks.

Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®) @ Trinity United Methodist Church

Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP<sup>®</sup>) @ Trinity United Methodist Church | Montpelier | Vermont | United States

Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®) programs are for anyone who has mental health difficulties or is struggling to incorporate wellness tools and strategies into their lives. Designed in Vermont at the Copeland Center with input from the Vermont Psychiatric Survivors and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, these workshops focus on developing action plans, skills for self-management and recovery. Each Wellness Recovery Action Plan workshop is led by two facilitators, one or both of whom are peers in recovery. The workshop is composed of 24 hours of content, but may be offered in either four 6-hour sessions, six 4-hour sessions or eight 3-hour sessions.
